Resort chairman Pasqualle Tirito told journalists on Friday that they are expecting the figure to rise to 100 per cent, from September to December.

Tirito said many investors and tourists were afraid of the outcome of the election.

“As investors, we were also worried about the outcome but since it was peaceful we expect more tourists to come.”

The chairman further said they expect to see Kenyans living peacefully despite their political affiliations.

“We were very happy to see Kenyans conduct peaceful elections. Now many tourists will be willing to come for holiday. The number will increase.”

Pietro Marsella, the hotel’s manager, said the county and national governments should now invest in infrastructure for tourists’ sake.

He said roads must be repaired and proper lighting installed in the area.
