National Super Alliance (Nasa) presidential running mate Kalonzo Musyoka on Friday urged voters in Ukambani to reject MPs who betrayed parties that sponsored their election to Parliament and defected to the ruling Jubilee coalition.
Mr Musyoka said it was morally wrong for anyone who has ascended to leadership to start violating the ideologies of political outfits that enabled them to secure seats in the county and national legislative assemblies.
Addressing rallies at Nzambani and Kanyangi markets in Kitui County, Mr Musyoka described Wiper party MPs who decamped to Jubilee as political sellouts who should be rejected in the elections.
The Wiper leader commended MPs Charles Nyamai (Kitui Rural), Makali Mulu (Kitui Central) and Mutua Muluvi (Kitui East), who are seeking re-election on the outfit’s ticket, for resisting attempts to woo them to defect from the Opposition.
“We expect our senators, governors, MPs and MCAs to respect the party leadership and be at the forefront in championing their ideologies and manifesto once elected,” he said.
