Raila ally Nicholas Zani eyes speaker position

The race to be the next county assembly speaker has begun to take shape, with an ally of Opposition leader Raila Odinga declaring his interest in the seat.

Nicholas Zani is the only member of the Orange Democratic Movement party, which has majority seats in the assembly, to have declared his interest. Out of the 20 elected MCAs, ODM has nine seats.


AG and LSK ask Supreme Court to consider the voter first

Together with other National Super Alliance (NASA) affiliates, the Opposition has 13 seats. The remaining seven are divided between Jubilee Party (six) and Kanu (one). If he is backed by all the 13 NASA seat holders, then Zani will be the man to beat.
