Police gun down wanted Mpeketoni attack mastermind

Police on Friday gunned down one of the most wanted terror suspects who has been on the run since 2015.

Hussein Said Omar aka Babley engaged security personnel in a shootout at his hideout in Bamburi, Mombasa.

This was before he was overpowered. The officers acted on a tipoff from members of the public

He is the in-charge of logistics for the al Shabaab militia operating in Boni Forest.

Babley was linked to the Mpeketoni attack where at least 60 people were killed on June 15 and 17, 2014.

The group is behind the killing of innocent Kenyans in Mwalei, Pandanguo and Milihoi.

Babley is brother of another terrorist, known by his street name Dogo, who is also on the run.
