Shinyalu MP Silverse Anami

Police have arrested MP Silverse Anami in Kakamega for questioning after he allegedly disrupted an event presided over by Public Service, Youth and Gender Affairs Cabinet Secretary Sicily Kariuki.

Anami was arrested in Kakamega.

Western regional police commander Moses Ombati said the MP was being interrogated in connection with chaos at Solio grounds in Shinyalu constituency on Friday.

“He is being questioned for incitement to destruction of public property and will record a statement,” said Ombati.

The Shinyalu MP was later released by police after questioning.
