Controversial businessman Paul Kobia has been ordered to appear in court on Monday to answer to charges of kidnapping.

Chief Magistrate Francis Andayi issued the order yesterday after defense lawyers, Henry Kurauka and Karathe Wandugi told the court that their client was involved in a road accident on March 11 and has been admitted at Guru Nanak Hospital.

Prosecutor Eddie Kadebbe objected the defense application to defer plea against Kobia and four of his bodyguards to two weeks claiming that nothing had been placed in court to show that the accident had occurred. -Faith Karanja
