The Deputy President has accepted to take a back seat and let President Uhuru Kenyatta to run the Government without any interference. Speaking at a well-attended meeting in Eldoret town during the launch of Rift Valley Textile Mills, the Deputy President read the mood of the residents and decided to join the bandwagon of accepting to unite all Kenyans for the sake of peace, tranquility and development.

Dr. William Samoei Ruto in the recent past has been seen by statehouse inner circle as an impediment of the President’s four-point agenda at the expense of the fourth coming general election. Area residents wanted to hear none of 2022 politics. All they wanted to hear is about progressive politics, jobs, and how the Government can improve prices of locally produced crops like maize and wheat.

It’s not long ago when Farmers lined up at the NCPB or the National cereals and produce board to sell their maize but were shocked at the delay it took them to sell their maize at a price they called paltry and others called it a throw away comparable to other seasons.

Farmers are complaining about the prices of farm inputs compared to what the cereal board was giving them, and they claim that the don’t match in any way and some farmers have vowed to abandon maize farming and seeking other alternatives to improve their livelihoods.

Eldoret town used to be a beehive of activities during harvesting season but nowadays little is been witnessed at this period because no money is in circulation because farmers are almost 80% of the local population.

In his part President Uhuru Kenyatta, steered away  politics but focused on his mega plans of reviving mills like Kisumu Cotton Mills, and Mount Kenya cotton mills which he said will see thousands of youths get employment and enjoy and improve their living standards.

The President was very categorical in devising means and ways of improving the economy and reducing the wage bill which is a huge burden to the Kenyan populace.
