It was pomp and colour as the NASA Coalition US Chapter launched their Membership and recruitment drive.
The NASA Coalition members residing in USA, made headlines by launching their Coalition’s Chapter in Minneapolis Minnesota. The organizers are targeting and embolden the NASA’S leadership secretariat efforts in Nairobi to have a robust and a well oiled campaign strategy, backed by think tanks and a well rounded grass-root support across the globe.
The event took place while Raila Odinga who is a NASA’s founding principal was attending other international engagements and functions in the US.
Speaker after speaker called for unity of purpose to enable the coalition’s flag bearer to defeat Jubilee in the forth coming general election slated for August 8, 2017.
Governor Ongwae who gave the keynote speech and addressed the meeting from Kenya, made a passionate plea and encouraged all NASA supporters to adopt at least one polling station across the country to ensure no votes are stolen by their competitors and that they continue campaigning for the coalition from wherever they are and pass a unity message to all Kenyans of goodwill to vote and send Jubilee coalition home come August 8 by 8 A.M in the morning.
Many speakers blamed the Jubilee government’s unfulfilled promises which they made before and after elections and wondered why they can’t be voted out because they have let Kenyans down and still giving new promises while they’ve not fulfilled the latter, for example the SGR Railway which is still shrouded in controversy, the NYS scandal, Eurobond, the Galana irrigation scheme, Class one laptop, and their failure to tarmac 10,000 Km of roads they promised.
The cost of basic goods is soaring every day and it’s having a negative impact on the economy and most Kenyans can’t afford even a single meal in a day.
Most members in attendance promised to adopt at least one polling station and also contribute to the Coalition’s kitty in due course.
Some speakers were annoyed that they’ll not be able to cast votes and wondered how the South Sudanese residents residing in US and other Countries managed to vote and participate fully in their general elections.
A participant who will be vying for Bassi parliamentary seat, Mr. Gongera George, was still at pains to understand why Kenyans make wrong decisions on the voting day by electing leaders who don’t perform in their respective wards and constituencies and requested for support from all Kenyans and reminded Kenyans that good leaders if given opportunity will transform Kenya in a few years.
Notable key Jubilee supporters decamped to NASA and promised to campaign and ensure NASA capture the Leadership of the Country and also many Mps and MCAs seats are won by NASA’s coalition across the Country.
