Nasa leaders attend burial of Senator Khaniri’s mother in Vihiga

Three National Super Alliance (Nasa) leaders in Vihiga to attend the burial of  Senator George Khaniri’s mother Josephine Kageha, who died two weeks ago.

Ms Kageha, 74, is wife of former Hamisi MP Nicodemus Khaniri.

ODM chief  Raila Odinga (ODM), Mr Musalia Mudavadi (ANC) and Mr Moses Wetang’ula (Ford Kenya), are expected to use the burial ceremony to be held at Kapsotik Primary School in Hamisi to call on their supporters from the vote rich larger Western Kenya to enlist as voters before the Tuesday deadline.

The leaders have in the past complained about worrying numbers of people who are enlisting as voters warning that it could hurt  the Nasa presidential candidate in the August polls.

They will also use the burial to see their new outfit, Nasa, the brain child of Mr Mudavadi that has since been embraced by other opposition leaders.

The leaders  who include Wiper Party boss Kalonzo Musyoka held a first Nasa rally in Bomet last Saturday and vowed they would stick together to defeat President Uhuru Kenyatta’s Jubilee party in August.

They were hosted by Bomet governor Isaac Ruto.

Buses have been hired by various leaders to ferry people from different parts of Vihiga to attend the burial.
