Murdered Mombasa tourists are Swiss nationals, police reveal

Police have identified the two tourists killed and their bodies dumped by a road in Mombasa to be Switzerland citizens.

The bodies of Werner Borner Paul, 70, and Marriane Hornel were found at Kiembeni area by pedestrians on Sunday morning.

The Star has established that the couple arrived in the country on Saturday August 19 and were staying at a Nyali hotel.

Regional police commander Larry Kieng’ said they have opened investigations into the killings.

The police boss said they are trailing suspects who they believe are linked to the murder of the two foreigners.

He added that postmortem will be conducted as the bodies have been moved to a mortuary in Mombasa.

“The killers will be arrested and taken to court. They can run but we will catch up with them even if they go to the sky.”
