Floyd ‘Money’ Mayweather on Saturday secured his place in boxing history after defeating UFC superstar Conor McGregor in their money-spinning superfight by technical knockout.
Mayweather was coming out of a two-year retirement to take on the Irish mixed martial arts star, and outclassed the UFC poster boy at the T-Mobile Arena.
The American, now 50-0, whom millions across the world love to hate, finished off the Irishaman in 10th round with a tired McGregor doubled over on the ropes, prompting referee Robert Byrd to intervene as a 14,623 crowd with A-list celebrities roared their approval.
Following the fight which was confirmed in June, Mayweather is now expected to be around $200 million (Sh20 billion) wealthier, taking his career earnings to around $1 billion while McGregor is set to earn around $100 million (Sh10 billion).
