Man in court for Sh69m Safaricom phones theft

A man has denied stealing mobile phones worth Sh69 million from a Safaricom shop.

Stanley Opiyo Mujomba, a manager, is alleged to have stolen 814 assorted mobile phones from Safaricom Centre in Westlands.

His lawyer, Mr Samuel Ogutu urged the magistrate to release his client on bond saying he is a father of two and will not abscond court.

He said his client has been cooperating with the police since investigations into the theft started on April 12 last year.

The accused was granted Sh1 million cash bail. The case will be heard on March 29.
