Kalonzo urges Kambas to support Raila

Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has asked the Kamba community to support him and accept his running mate position under the National Super Alliance (Nasa)

Mr Musyoka said it is time for all leaders in Ukambani to unite than never before and speak with one voice.

‘’You should ignore leaders who are being used by politicians from outside the region to split our vote in the August election,’’ he said.

Mr Musyoka said he will ensure voters in the region vote for Nasa presidential candidate Raila Odinga, saying he is the best suited candidate to challenge President Uhuru Kenyatta in this year’s elections.

“I want to tell all voters from this region to stand firm in support of my brother Odinga, as he is the only person with the requisite political experience to lead this country,” he said.

Mr Musyoka also said Nasa is committed to the principle of inclusivity and integration of all Kenyan communities, a practice he claimed, had been ignored by the Jubilee administration.

He said corruption has remained a major weakness of the Jubilee administration and challenged the country’s top leadership to step up war on corruption.

“We want to make a Kenya where every community has equitable access to opportunities in governance and public participation, but not a country of a chosen few based on tribal inclinations,” the former Vice President said.

He spoke on Friday at a burial ceremony in Kangundo, Machakos County.
