Kalonzo maintains will to fly Cord’s flag in August polls

Cord co-principal Kalonzo Musyoka has said he is the right person to be Cord’s flag bearer, asking Raila Odinga not to contest for the presidency.

Mr Musyoka said the Opposition should find an alternative candidate besides Mr Odinga to run for the top seat.

“My brother Raila Odinga knows too well the rich sacrifices some of us have been making for him in the past and it’s time he reciprocated,” he said.

The Wiper Democratic Party leader said he has been patient enough and would not wish to play second fiddle to any leader facing it off with President Uhuru Kenyatta in the coming elections.

Mr Kalonzo was speaking in Riosiri, South Mugirango, during his two-day tour of Kisii County.

He said he has the competency to wage war against impunity.

“Kenyans are tired of rhetoric. They want a leader who can grow their economy, a leader who can create jobs,” he added.

He is expected to hold other rallies in Kenyenya, Bomachoge Borabu constituency, and Nyaribari Chache.
