Kaloleni MP Gunga Mwinga has petitioned the national government to resolve a 7,100-hectare tussle in Mitangoni, Mariakani town.

Mr Mwinga urged the Government to end the Sh22 billion land conflict before the August elections to end tension in the area.

“The squatters want to settle without fear of eviction. We urge the Government to intervene,” he said at a baraza. The MP wants the people behind the misappropriation of Sh26 million paid for part of the land prosecuted.

“It is regrettable that what is done is the opposite of whatever was agreed.” Chama Cha Uzalendo (CCU) chairman Maur Bwanamaka said NLC was to blame.
