JKUAT Closed as Registrar Urge Students to Vote Uhuru.

The Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) has this morning been closed indefinately. 

The closure of the Institution comes weeks after University of Nairobi was also shutdown following police raid in classes and hostels beating and molesting students during a demonstartion calling for the release of former Student Leader Babu Owino now a member of Parliament in Embakasi who was arrested after his utterances that seemed not to ogre well with authorities who arrested and re-arrested him after the Court released him on bail.  

Babu Owino was said to been taken to un-undisclossed location after his re-arrest provoking the students to come out in solidarity of “Comrade Power” to defend their own.

In what the registrar of JKUAT terms as a semester break, in his memo dated 18th of October 2017, Dr E.T Muori said it was the students right to be allowed to take part in the Elections slated for 26th of October stating the institution will remain closed until further notice.

In the memo the registrar also is seen to take political sides and asked the students to ‘vote wisely’ and vote for President Uhuru Kenyatta.

The memo read in part “Vote wisely my friends. #TanoTena!”

Maseno University was ealier on closed after students disrupted an IEBC officials on Wednesday.

“Due to the prevailing circumstances, the university is hereby closed indefinitely. Students are advised to vacate the premises,” The Vice Chancellor Julius Nyabundi ordered.

Mt Kenya University has also since been closed .
