Embakasi East Member of Parliament, Babu Owino has denunciated president Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto of bending the High Court ruling on election petition disputing his election on August 8, 2017, polls
In his post on Facebook on Monday, February 12, Babu Owino alleged the president Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto were interested parties in the case against his victory.

“I know it is in Uhuru’s and Ruto’s interest in having a by-election in Embakasi East Constituency. Instead of wasting time recounting, why don’t they call for the by-election?” the post read.
The petition against Babu Owino`s victory in August 8 polls was filled by a Jubilee party Francis Mureithi on September 7, 2017.
After the hearing, the court yesterday ordered for a vote recount in Embakasi East Constituency. In the same line, The Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) was also directed by the High Court to producE several relevant documents linked to the case in the next two days.
The decision by the High Court against petition deemed to challenge Owino`s victory came shortly after various courts had thrown away petitions related to the August 8 polls. For instance, the petitions against the victory of Sospeter Ojamong and Alfred Mutua were thrown away by the courts due to insufficient evidence
