Your continuous attacks won’t give me sleepless nights, Uhuru tells Joho

President
Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto on Sunday took a swipe on Mombasa Governor
Hassan Joho saying his (Joho) continuous tirade on Jubilee government will not
give them sleepless nights.

Uhuru
told the thousands of Jomvu residents that the “fake sultan” has perfected the
act of insulting the Jubilee government and the Presidency whenever he gets a
platform.

He
said Joho has failed to resolve the garbage menace in Mombasa; therefore, he
does not qualify to accuse Jubilee government of failing in delivering its
promise.

“You
(Joho) can abuse me for the whole day, but that will not give me sleepless nights,”
said Uhuru during a public rally at Jomvu Primary School.

Uhuru,
who was at the Coast for a series of political rallies, said Joho is not as brave
as he thinks.

“Bravery
is not in insulting others. Bravery will only be seen on what you have been
able to deliver to your people as development. Clear the garbage menace in
Mombasa first before anything else,” he said.

Uhuru
said Joho should show the people of Mombasa what he has done in his first
tenure as the governor of Mombasa County.

“We
(Jubilee) take credit for what we have been able to deliver. We promised the
Standard Gauge Railway and its Mombasa station is here in Jomvu constituency.
Show us what you have done before going round throwing insults,” said the
President.

The
controversial Mombasa governor has declared himself as “the number one enemy of
Jubilee government,” and does not shy away from openly accusing Uhuru of failing.

He
has on numerous occasion claimed that the President Uhuru administration want
to transfer the port operations to Naivasha, a claim that does not auger well
with the Jubilee government.

“We
are not transferring any port operations to Naivasha. We cannot transfer the Indian
Ocean to Naivasha, therefore the port of Mombasa we remain here,” Uhuru said.

Ruto
said the Jubilee government is setting up an Industrial city in Naivasha.

“That
is not a dry port as some of your leaders claim. That is an industrial city. We
shall establish another industrial city in Kisumu,” he said.

He said the Jubilee government, in the last
three years, has been able to raise electricity connection in Mombasa from
100,000 to over 300,000 households.

He
said Coastal residents are not fools to support the Nasa government which will
be formed by opposition leader Raila Odinga and his running mate Kalonzo Musyoka.

He
said the duo was in government for over three decades but have no track record to show for it.

“If
they could not do it in 30 years they have been in government, can they deliver
in five years?” posed Ruto.

Uhuru and Ruto took the opportunity to campaign for Jubilee governor candidate
for Mombasa Suleiman Shahbal and his running mate Ananiah Mwaboza.

They
also campaigned for Hazel Katana for Mombasa senator and Amina Abdhalla for women
representative and all other Jubilee candidates in the region.

They
were accompanied by Tourism Cabinet Secretary Najib Balala, Gatundu South MP
Moses Kuria, Zainab Chidzuga (Kwale woman representative), Masoud Mwahima
(Likoni Mp) and Taveta MP Naomi Shaban.
