The county government has partnered with the National Police Service to arrest drivers misusing official vehicles.
Under a new policy released by County Transport and Infrastructure Executive Johnston Khejeri, drivers and county officers will be required to use vehicles up to 6pm on weekdays only.
The drivers will not be allowed to use the vehicles at all on weekends. Those who flout the directive will face immediate interdiction.
Mr Khejeri said the county had spent massive amounts of money to fuel and service official vehicles as irresponsible drivers continued to use them on private errands.
“County vehicles are the most misused; after every few days they have to be serviced,” he said.
