Two Kenyan women were arrested at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport with drugs destined for Bangkok, Thailand.

One of them had ingested pellets of heroin. She was arrested on Monday evening as she was preparing to board a plane that was to connect to Bangkok through Addis Ababa.

Police said the 28-year-old woman had ingested 79 pellets that she was to deliver to Thailand. She had by yesterday emitted 43 pellets. Police said she was under observation and would be charged once all the pellets have been recovered.

Recruiter

The second woman was arrested in Mlolongo after the first one told police she was the one who had supplied the heroin.

“The woman arrested at the airport was a mule and was recruited by the second woman, who was arrested hours after the trafficker was detained,” said a police officer.
