Team Kenya’s unforgettable presidential treat in Mombasa

Team Kenya to the recently concluded World Under-18 Championships received well-deserved four-day holiday in Mombasa, courtesy of President Uhuru Kenyatta.

The team which consisted of 44 athletes and 32 officials were thrilled by the gesture especially considering the fact that this has never happened before.

The group traveled to Mombasa on the Madaraka Express, another first for many of them on the newly-constructed Standard Gauge Railway.

The Pride Inn Hotel in Shanzu provided luxurious accommodation, sumptuous meals and entertainment for the team. The four-day trip was marked by a fusion of exciting activities. Highlights included visiting the famous Old Town, exploring Marikiti, Fort Jesus, Haller Park and the Kenyan Port.
