A 32-year-old man is being held at Akala Police Station in connection with the brutal killing of his brother at Kambare sub-location in the county.
David Otieno was arrested on Wednesday after he allegedly hacked his 28-year-old brother, Nicholas Ouma, in the head with a hoe following a domestic quarrel.
Area Assistant Chief Mrs Sarah Ogada said that the suspect returned home drunk at around 11pm and began harassing their mother for food, an issue that angered the deceased.
“The victim went to his mother’s house to confront Otieno. A quarrel ensued and prompted a fight that led to the death,” said Mrs Ogada.
On realising that he had killed his brother, the suspect ran but their mother raised an alarm. He was found hiding in a nearby home by villagers who responded to his mother’s cries
