Samsung Smart TV Partners With Shazam Music Service

Samsung Electronics has
released a new update for its 2017 Smart TV platform to support Shazam.
Shazam, an online music service that helps users identify the media playing
around them will be available on Smart Hub of 2017 Samsung Smart TVs.

“We are thrilled
to provide our Smart TV users with the ultimate music service through our
partnership with Shazam,” Samsung Electronics vice president for visual display
Hee-man Lee said.

Shazam grants
Smart TV viewers the ability to identify songs that are playing in TV shows or
films easily. Users will be able to access song titles, artists, lyrics and
albums while watching content, whether live TV or content delivered over high
definition media interface.

Users will also
access voice recognition technology in the Samsung One Remote to identify songs
by speaking into the remote. Shazam instantly provides information about the
music being played.

Additionally,
Shazam will provide viewers with the option of streaming the music they
identify and allow them to create playlists with unlimited access.

“We are excited to
integrate Shazam’s functionality with another medium that’s enjoyed by so many
people around the world,” Shazam chief product officer Fabio Santini said.
