Police question Chinese natives for being in country illegally

Three Chinese nationals have been arrested in Meru for being in the country illegally and engaging in business without a license.

Confirming the arrest, county police commander Nelson Taliti said the foreigners’ passports had expired.

They have been identified as Xu Muzan, Yang Gouliang and Chen Deheng aged 39, 36 and 22, respectively.

“We are still interrogating them and we will have more details later,” he told the Nation by phone.

The suspects, who are said to have been engaging in buying and selling macadamia, were questioned at the Meru offices of the Directorate of Criminal Investigations.
