Speaking during the inauguration of the National Public Health Laboratories, the Head of quality and Standards department at the Ministry of health Dr Pacific Onyancha said the laboratory equipment come with a lifespan and require calibration from time to time to ensure efficacy.

“There is no programme on laboratory equipment maintenance in the country due to prohibitive costs,” she said. She emphasised the pros of maintaining laboratory equipment sighting the extents and potential impacts of missed, erroneous or delayed diagnosis.
