Man shot dead after threatening to attack police

The suspect reportedly yanked a fork jembe brandishing it at the police who challenged him to surrender.

An unidentified man was shot dead after threatening to attack a police officer with a fork jembe in Tigoni.

The man had allegedly intruded into a house before a watchman manning the compound called the police.

Police stormed and rummaged through the house before finding the suspected robber hiding in the ceiling.

Police said, a fork jembe, car radio, torch, camera, two bracelets, a pair of sport shoes and sh12,300 were recovered from the deceased.

The body was taken to the City Mortuary.
