Man lynched after killing Samburu elder

A man has been lynched at Archers Post in Samburu East after allegedly killing an elder.
The suspect stabbed the old man with a knife in the neck killing him on the spot after a disagreement.
The cause of their disagreement was not established.
“He was apprehended by angry members of the public who stoned and burnt him to death,” a witness said.
Samburu County Police Commander Alfred Ageng’o said the incident was reported at Archers Post Police station.
“We have just received a report on the incidence, but as we speak we have no evidence as to why the suspect killed the man,” he said.
However, the officer said that investigations have commenced.
He warned members of the public against taking law into their own hands.
“Our officers are investigating the cause of the killing and it is unfortunate that members of the public took law into their own hands,” said the police boss.
Bodies of the two have been taken to the Isiolo County Referral Hospital mortuary.
