I am alive and kicking, IEBC official confirms amid death rumours

An IEBC official on Saturday dismissed claims that she had been murdered and her body dumped in a farm.

Ruth Kalundu, Siaya county returning officer, told the Star that the rumor should be treated with all contempt it deserves.

This followed reports circulated on social media that her badly mutilated body had been found dumped in Sega area.

“Let all people know that I am alive and kicking,” adding that she had spent the day at Chris Msando’s burial.

It was while here that she got information of people alleging she is dead.

“I learnt of this information at around 4pm after attending Msando’s burial,” Kulundu said.

“My friends were calling to find out whether am fine. When I asked to know what was happening, I was sent a link with a statement purporting that I have died.”

“I am so shocked and am yet to come to terms with such false reports on my life,” she added.

Kulundu said she has reported the matter to police to establish the source of the news or whether it was a mistaken identity.

“I am reliably informed that one of our clerks based at Ugenya was murdered and it could be a case of mistaken identity as she looks like me. For now, we leave it with the police,” she said.

IEBC further confirmed on their twitter saying, “Our Siaya County Election Manager Ruth Kulundu is alive and well. Ignore rumours saying otherwise”.
