Police in Lurambi are holding four people from Mulunyu village who allegedly robbed mourners of Sh15,000.

The mourners had raised the money to help a family clear the hospital bill of a relative who has died.

Eunice Anyango, who was in charge of the fundraiser, said three men ambushed her and and took her to the bedroom where she had kept the Sh15,000.

“We were supposed to raise Sh25,000 but we managed to raise only Sh15,000. The money was to clear the hospital bill of Wycliffe Ochillo, who will be buried this weekend,” Ms Anyango said.
