48 foreigners arrested in Githurai

Police in Ruiru Thursday arrested 48 Ethiopian who had been hiding in a house in Githurai Kimbo area, Kiambu County.

A taxi driver said to have been involved in their transportation to the house and a woman who is reported to have been sheltering them were also arrested.

Ruiru Police Commander Isaac Thuranira said the police acted on a tip off from the public Mr Thuranira said the 48 were holed up in a tiny room in Kizito area in Githurai Kimbo.

“They were in a small rental house where we found some were weak due to congestion,” said Mr Thuranira.

The foreigners are currently being held at Ruiru police cells and shall be arraigned in court Friday.
